about

These 14 tracks were written between April 25 and April 30th 2024 and, though this project wasn't intended to be an album, that's what happened.
Here's the story:
Being a member of The Cousin Silas Emporium on Facebook for a number of years, there was an invitation to be part of a compilation album where artists wrote a track inspired by that American art collective known as the Residents.
For a month or so, I didn't feel that I had the capability of writing such a track as the residents wasn't a group I was very familiar with, outside of their 1973 debut album called "Meet the Residents".
I sent Cousin Silas the track called Collywobbles and he liked it so this gave me the confidence to try my hand at a couple more tracks.
Subsequently, I sent him Arfvedsonite, Cattywampus, Zonked and Floccinaucinihilipilification, the title track of this weird album.
I couldn't let this idea go so I wrote more and more until the project grew to 14 tracks at almost 80 minutes of genre jumping nonsensical sonic meanderings whose titles are just as outrageous as the music itself.
The intention was to find the silliest words possible but to select only those which, at least in my mind, had a relational connection to the sound or feeling I was attempting to convey through these improvisations or, in some cases, the intentionally careful stacking together and placement of loops in relationship to each other.
